About Louise Cooper Smith
Louise Smith lives in Philmont, New York. Working with plaster and painting on porous surfaces is where she best expresses her interest in color and in the deconstruction and disintegration of material and form, pushing the viewer to develop an instinct for problem-solving, filling in the blanks, and seeking hidden truths.
Louise graduated with a BFA from Bard College in 2013 and a Post-Baccalaureate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. Her artwork has been exhibited in Mexico City, Washington, D.C. and New York.
